Job Description

Psychiatrist needed for this 26 bed adult unit. 10% geriatric patients. Average daily census is 20-22 patients covered by the Locum Tenens Doctor plus one other Psychiatrist. The LT Doctor carries a case load of 10 to 15 inpatients, plus will do some structured outpatient work. Average length of stay is 6 days. Hours: 8A-5P, M-F. Call is 1 in 2 or 3 for nights and 1 in 3 for weekends. Physicals for the H&Ps for new admissions are done by Primary Care Doctors, not the Psychiatrists. Hospital credentialing / privileging takes up to 30 days. Client will consider 2 months minimum assignments, the longer the better.
